Eat Wild and the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust recently announced the success of their first initiative, Fiver for the Future. This campaign encouraged shooting schools across the country to participate by raising funds by donating £5 at the end of the shooting lesson.
Many of the premier shooting schools actively promoted the initiative, including Holland & Holland, Coleys, West London Shooting School, Bisley, Hownhall Shooting, Barbury, Grimsthorpe, Oxfordshire Shooting School, and Purdey at the Royal Berkshire.
With categories based on number of instructors, the top fundraisers were, Holland & Holland Shooting Ground who won lunch at The Harwood Arms and Coley’s who won lunch at Chez Roux at The Langham.
Sarah Gulak of Eat Wild, remarked: “We would like to thank all those who embraced the initiative to help Eat Wild and GWCT continue their work in supporting the positive aspects of game management”.
Dylan Williams added: “Knowing that many shooting grounds are the introducers of so many to game shooting as well as providing tuition to more experienced guns, I was delighted the initiative was so well received by so many grounds. I am sure when we launch the 2025 Fiver for the Future, every ground in the UK will wish to participate”
