Mark Kempson is the esteemed head chef of Kitchen W8 in Kensington, a restaurant that has maintained its Michelin star for over a decade under his expert guidance. Mark’s culinary journey began at the age of thirteen when a chance opportunity in a local restaurant ignited his passion for cooking. After honing his skills at Basingstoke College of Technology and gaining valuable experience at prestigious establishments like Pennyhill Park Hotel and The Vineyard at Stockcross, Mark found his true culinary home at The Square under the mentorship of Phil Howard. Despite initial challenges, he thrived in the high-pressure environment, refining his craft and developing a deep appreciation for seasonal, flavor-driven cuisine. Since 2009, Mark has been at the helm of Kitchen W8, where he continues to create simple, approachable dishes that celebrate the best of British ingredients.
