This Diwali, two of the UK’s leading advocates for sustainable, wholesome living, Eat Wild and Toral Shah, are joining forces to bring an extraordinary celebration of sustainable meat, functional nutrition, and culture to their dishes. In a first-of-its-kind partnership, the two brands will blend the best of wild meat and health-conscious culinary practices to celebrate Diwali with some fabulous new recipes.
Diwali, the festival of lights, is a time for joy, family, and indulgence in rich traditions, including sharing delectable food. Eat Wild, renowned for its commitment to educating people on the benefits of eating wild meat, and Toral Shah, a nutritionist rooted in functional healing and nutrition-focused, vibrant dishes, are excited to merge their philosophies in tasty dishes that honour both the spirit of Diwali and a sustainable, health-conscious lifestyle.
A Celebration of Tradition and Innovation
This collaboration seeks to highlight the beauty of traditional Diwali cuisine while offering a fresh, nutritious twist. These Wild Diwali recipes feature classic Indian dishes made from wild and responsibly sourced meat, infused with modern, health-focused preparation methods designed by Toral Shah. The dishes celebrate flavour without compromising on nutrition, ensuring every bite is packed with both taste and vitality.
Toral Shah shares,
“Consuming game meat is a great way to obtain essential nutrients while maintaining a healthy diet. Unlike other meats t
hat are typically high in fat and cholesterol, game meat is incredibly lean due to the wild animals’ constant movement. Any fat stored by these animals is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which provide numerous health benefits. Additionally, wild game such as venison has an ideal proportion of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids, making it one of the best sources of good fat.
Game meat also contains high levels of iron and many other beneficial nutrients such as vitamin E, beta-carotene, zinc, vitamin B6, and selenium. Selenium is often lacking in our diets but plays a crucial role in protecting cells from free radical damage.”
By bringing together wild, sustainable meat with innovative, healthy cooking techniques, Eat Wild and Toral Shah aim to offer some new and exciting taste sensations that celebrate both nature and heritage.
A Shared Commitment to Nutrition, Sustainability and Health
Eat Wild is passionate about reconnecting people with where their food comes from and educating people on the benefits of choosing wild, sustainable meat. By partnering with Toral Shah, whose focus is on nutrition and reducing the risk of disease through balanced eating, this collaboration serves as a powerful statement on how tradition and sustainability can work hand in hand to create delicious and health-conscious meals.

Diwali is a time of celebration, and we wanted to show that it’s possible to honour that tradition with some new and fragrant dishes designed by Toral. It is an honour to work with someone who is also as passionate about nutritional education as we are, and we are excited to see where this partnership goes in the future.”
Toral Shah, founder of The Urban Kitchen, added, Diwali celebrations revolve around food, and we are thrilled to present a menu that pays tribute to traditional flavours while also promoting nutrition and environmental consciousness.
