The Swinton Estate is celebrating everything that is great about sustainable wild meat, with a plethora of game based offerings throughout Great British Game Week this year. They are kicking off with Samuel’s Gala Lunch on Monday the 4th of November, a delectable three-course game lunch which will be hosted in Swinton Estate’s fine-dining Samuel’s Restaurant.
Arrive at 12.30pm, when a drink will be served before being seated for lunch at 1.00pm. A glass of wine will accompany your three-course lunch, which is priced at £35 per person.
On the Wedensday the 6th, Thursday the 7th and Friday the 9th of November, join Chef Patron Josh Barnes, for an incredible journey of food and drink at Chef’s Table by Josh Barnes; an intimate gastronomic experience at the heart of the Swinton Estate.
Open for dinner, from 7pm, the evening will begin with a drinks reception, followed by canapés and an eight-course tasting menu plated in front of you on the Chef’s Table pass; an opportunity to watch the culinary magic unfold as you ask Josh any questions you may have.
A lighter five-course lunch is served on Saturday, from 12:30pm.
£110 per person (eight-course dinner), £55 per person (five-course lunch).
Pre-booking for the Chef’s Table is essential, as places are limited.
Throughout the week.
From Tuesday the 5th to Friday the 9th of November, you can enjoy stunning two- or three-course lunch menus showcasing local game alongside produce from Swinton’s Walled Garden at Samuel’s, starting from £24 per person.
Or, you can relax any day of the week at The Terrace, where Head Chef, Shaun Burke, and his team of talented chefs have curated a fabulous menu for you to enjoy, whether it’s the first time trying game or you’re a game connoisseur! Prices, starting at £18 per person for two-courses.
The Bivouac Cafe is offering a game lunch menu, and will be offering wood-fired game pizzas and succulent venison burgers on Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th of November only, so get yourself booked in ASAP!

Learn how to prepare, cook and serve a variety of seasonal game. Understand how to approach different types of game and their individual cuts of meat to get the most from this wonderful seasonal produce. Offering half day courses from £95 per person, and full day courses at £170 per person, recipes (may include): venison olives, roast pigeon with butter beans and mushrooms, game chips, roasted game bird, pheasant kiev, and rabbit saltimbocca.
The Finale.
The week of exceptional cuisine ends on Saturday the 10th of November, with a Great British Game Week Closing Lunch at Samuels’s, with a drink being served on your arrival, followed by a three-course, game lunch and coffee for £45 per person.
